Orthopaedics Research – Postdoctoral fellowship
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is seeking a postdoctoral fellow interested in pursuing research in bone biology and regenerative medicine under the guidance of Drs. Erin Hsu, PhD, Research Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, and Wellington Hsu, MD, Clifford C. Raisbeck Distinguished Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery. The position is supported in part by NIH and other sponsored research grants.
This position provides an excellent opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary environment with bone biologists, clinicians, materials scientists, and biomedical engineers across the university. The lab’s research involves the development and in vitro/in vivo testing of novel materials for musculoskeletal regenerative applications. This fellowship opportunity involves pursuit of stem cell-based mechanistic studies as well as histology, imaging, and potentially other techniques related to in vivo bone regenerative medicine studies.
We offer a competitive salary and an initial appointment of 12 months, with potential for extension up to 3 years. The state-of-the-art laboratory is located in the Simpson Querrey Institute on the downtown Chicago campus of Northwestern University, amidst our world-class medical school and research facilities.
Requirements
The qualifications for a successful candidate should include:
- A PhD in a biomedical field
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated experience with cell and molecular biological techniques
- Experience with histology techniques
